because it really isn't that good of a restaurant

Because it sucks...most over-hyped restaurant in South Louisiana

They're just doing it all wrong.

Cause then you need even more workers there to shuck oysters all day. I think they're doing just fine without it.
And people saying Sammy's is terrible, Lol wtf?

it isn't terrible. but its whispered in the breath of BR people like its the fricking Valhalla of dining. Like it deserves a Michelin Star for its fine cuisine. It's a regular arse restaurant with average food and a bunch of college chicks in nike shorts/khaki shorts waiting tables.
They serve crawfish all year round mostly. Big fricking deal.

Gimme Sammy's over Don's, Sno's, or Mike Anderson's..... Hell even Landry's in New Orleans

Well, you have to look at what they are comparing it too.

that isn't hard to beat. very few self respecting people with any knowledge of food will dine at these places.

No, it's just a good casual restaurant. If someone is trying to say that it's fine dining then they are as far off in one direction as someone saying it's terrible is in the other, in my opinion.

right...its ok...it isn't great. it's certainly not a place im going to wait 45-60 minutes for a table at. but to each his own.

2 hour wait during crawfish season...2 fricking hours for average food.

I wouldn't either... but there aren't many places I would, too many good alternatives even in BR to wait an hour for a table.

Who waits when I can reserve a table with candles
Posted on 12/17/13 at 12:01 pm to Spaulding Smails
Wow. I have never waited but I know not to go on a Friday at 6pm during lent.

Damn this thread is full of uppity tards. To call Sammy's average is ridiculous. Is it freaking Dicky Brennan's? Of course not. It's a bar & grill style restaurant and they are great at what they do. And they do a great job with dine-in crawfish...probably one of the best in Baton Rouge.

Baton Rouge folks defend this place with their life...it's average
