Subpar unseasoned burger. Completely unimaginative. Boring fries. Only kept alive because people that can't taste anything for the last 15 years still find it edible.
I went a few months back because it's nearby and I wanted to give it another shot after the remodel. Should've spent my money elsewhere. Same people who eat here think Dearman's is a top tier burger in this day and age.

Location on government had a fire and decided to expensive to repair.

Because they’re ridiculously expensive and the food isn’t that good.

Haven’t been to one in years but never had the burger. Always liked the couple of clubs they offered and enjoyed the fries.

FYI, the Gonzales location is closing for a month for renovations.

Because I live in Jackson and well, Brewbacher's burgers are much better than most of the burgers in Jackson, including Mugshots.
The gumbo is not bad either. I usually get a couple of quarts. At least they know not to mix shrimp, chicken, and sausage together in a gumbo unlike in Jackson.

The one on Sherwood was in terrible shape - the building that is.
We went to eat there one night while it was raining and there were buckets everywhere bc the roof was leaking.
Food was still good, though

They need to take a hard look and decide if they really need to reopen Government Street. It was absolutely terrible the last few years, even after they did the renovation to make it look like a modern mobile home inside.
The staff was slow and the food was edging towards bad. Maybe it’s time for another restaurant to try their hand in the space.

I also have never understood the love for this place.
They make some of the best shitty original style buffalo wings in the country.

It's always pretty good. Neither bad nor great. But when I want old school wings I always go there.

Brewbachers serves a purpose. It’s usually a fallback place for me and my family when either (a) no one is craving anything in particular and/or (b) no one can decide on a place. It has a varied enough menu that everyone can find something they like.
Is it the best burger ever? No. Best po-boy. No. Best salad, platters, etc? No. But it’s good enough and consistent.
Despite what some of the epicureans on here think, you don’t stay in business for 40 years by being bad. It’s consistent and reliable. For a quick lunch or dinner that works

Legalizing sports betting cut most of their profits. True story.

Their Rueben sandwich is actually pretty damn good.
When i want a good rueben, that's usually where i get it from.

Been to the Bluebonnet one a couple times since they renovated. It's nice in there, but nothing about the food makes me want to come back. It's not cheap (nothing is these days to be fair), but it's just mediocre to me.

They are the definition of mediocre, but that’s kinda also their niche. They have a large menu of mid food, so if you’ve got a big family who all wants different things, everyone can get something that they’ll enjoy. They are not the best place to get any item on their menu, but they might be the best place where you can get every item on their menu. That variety is why I don’t drag them nearly as much as I do Deerman’s, Pastime, Drusilla Seafood, or Jay’s BBQ.

Still don’t understand why their Baton Rouge location didn’t make it.

Sounds like they took the insurance money and used it to keep the others afloat.
I wouldn't say they're bad, but they're not good at all. Bland and underwhelming. People in BR still like that sorta thing. Must be nostalgia too.
I don't think they'll make it past 2030 but we shall see. It's hard to compete with places that charge the same or barely much more for a higher quality meal, especially since going out to eat is costing roughly the same at any dining establishment that isn't considered a "fancy" restaurant.
