Make them yourself, it'll far superior (heh, got a pun in there) then anywhere else in BR.

Superior rocks margs used to be good, but that tastes like crap lemonade now. If I had to pick a place to get a Marg right now, it would be barracuda.

If you're a rocks Marg person, buy some espolon, limes and agave, do 2 parts tequila, 1 part lime, and 1 part agave and you're golden. I go heavier on tequila (3 parts instead of 2) and it's like OG superior but better. Homemade margs are the way to go

It’s fricking pointless elitism.

Sometimes people want to go out and have a margarita instead of being shut ins who miraculously figured out the key ingredients to a margarita.

I bet you can grill a better steak than the best steakhouse in America on your big green egg

There’s quite a bit of difference between making a margarita and grilling a good steak. One takes a little bit of culinary talent. The other doesn’t.

Making a margarita literally requires 3 ingredients and the ability to shake a shaker. I can’t make a better steak than a great steakhouse because they generally have better access to better meat and equipment. But making a better margarita at home is easy. The crap at restaurants are rarely as good as the homemade drink because restaurants skimp on portions and don’t always use quality ingredients.

Get quality tequila; quality orange liquer (Cointreau), and fresh lime juice. Portion it correctly and shake it up. It will be better than what you get at any of the restaurants

When people on this board ask “what’s the best spot in this particular town to get insert any food or drink they aren’t looking for a recipe or the address to y’all’s house

OP asked for a spot close to campus for good margaritas. I guess he should’ve brought the ingredients, ice, and a shaker to campus for a good one.

Hell why didn’t he just buy a house close to campus and make his own

I swear to god some of y’all are complete recluses

Still one of the better. The one frozen at Torchys, it’s smooth. El Rio Grande, been around a long time, still good.

The guy that owns Mestizos, his Dad was Carlos the restaurant on the corner of Florida and Airline. His uncle owns El Rio Grande!

El Rio Grande

Just tried it for the first time last week on the advice of a friend. Worst margarita I've ever had. Straight up liquor, no flavor whatsoever. Might've been just a squirt of lime juice. The food was better than most Tex Mex here but that really doesn't say much.
