Obviously it’s a good run and great achievement.
How is any business (regardless of years open) that’s forced to unwillingly close because they refuse to evolve and can’t keep employees not considered a failure?
Are Pan Am and General Motors successful businesses to you?

This thread has been entertaining. I only ate there once in the 10 or so years I lived in BR, and that was a long time ago. I seem to remember the pizza being very greasy.

They are always fun
I was in the camp that enjoyed their pizza but anytime I wanted one my first step was to check my wallet. If I didn’t have cash I went somewhere else. I refuse to use an ATM just for one business that won’t adapt out of principle

The pizza is garbage, the owner is garbage, and the building needs to be bulldozed.
I think trout bandit is going to buy it and sit behind the front wall and drink beer while they level the place.

Wtf 6th is talking out of both sides of his mouth hahaha
Whatever success you can say that restaurant had could've easily been doubled if, again, the ownership wasn't such shite.
If current owners were there for 30 years, and it's a 70 plus year old business. That building is most likely bought and paid for, then they cheap out and don't pay to process credit cards.
They cut corners for years. It's an embarrassing way to run a business.

I mean Pastime is a pretty comparable restaurant. It is very old and serves decent Pizza and other bar food. Pastime will not be going out of business anytime soon. There is nothing fancy about the place, but it is usually solid food for what it is, and good drinks. They at least have a nice parking lot and take modern forms of payment

The cash only model I never understood. As a business you would think their goal is to make as much money as possible. I’d imagine many times potential customers would pass go, because they didn’t want to go out of their way to get cash.

While there was a few areas in which they could have gotten with the times (i.e., the credit card deal), I'd suggest their issues were more of devolution versus failure to evolve.

Yeah them not wanting to pay or even fool with cc processing is so stupid. I can forgive a lot of shite, but goddamn if you're gonna be cheap at least update the fricking building. It looks and has always looked run down as frick.

I know someone that recently worked there. He said the owner didn't want to pay competitive wages. They were still paying close to minimum wage when all the fast food restaurants in the area was starting employees out at least $10-11. They got away with this for a long time primarily hiring people fresh out of jail or living in a half-way house. These people weren't picky and needed to document that they had employment.
Over the last year, even they started to quit or not show up for their shift.
