what was the stunt with the canebrake cask?
They had a cask of vanilla-orange Canebrake. In order to buy a pint, you had to purchase it with their ceviche food pairing for $15. No warning until we were charged for it.
The previous night, The Cove had a cask of Citra Canebrake. $4.50 a pint. No strings attached.
Andrew was none too happy with what PH did either. Don't piss the brewery off.

They advertised they were taping a cask of Vanilla Orange Canebrake, w/ no mention of a beer/food pairing. When people showed up and ordered a pint they were required to purchase a ceviche entree with the beer.

What?
Without looking them up, which do you choose:
Terrapin Moo Hoo
Terrapin Monk's Revenge
Terrapin Tree Hugger

I remember when that underhanded scam was first posted on here. Always nice for a new business to treat their customers to a bait and switch.

What pissed me off is that Andrew went to BR with 2 different casks to tap before he did any of it in Lafayette.
But now they have their own tap room the are tapping at least 2 casks about every week here

Let's piss off a big portion of our potential new customer base and one of the more prominent local area distributors of the chief product we are in business to sell, all in one fell swoop.
Sheer brilliance.
Sheer brilliance.

this just convinced me to never patronage this place again unless they get some new people running it who aren't con artists.
Exactly how I felt when I first heard the story.

I'd get all three and decide myself rather than trusting some hippie kid.

An easy walk from PH, in case they piss you off

Perhaps they were too ambitious in opening up in that huge space and are trying to find ways to make extra money even if it alienates their customers.
they should put back the fricking Olive Garden or whatever was there before. probably had better customer service.

Marconi Grill FTW
I went a couple of Saturday nights ago when the Yat Pack was playing. It was pretty crowded, but not overly packed.
