I usually just pick up some at Rouses when I shop there but have found them less than stellar at times, to put in nicely.

Lafayette peeps, where is your favorite place to purchase boiled bugs on the mall side of the city for purchase to take home?

Thanks in advance.

I've been meaning to try that place. Didn't know if it was just a restaurant.

Cajun Claws if I have time to waste and want to make a night of it.

If I'm just doing something quick, I've been going to Cajun Table, which is on the southside of town. I really enjoy it.

Richards sells #1 crabs, only place I’ve heard of that does that. Something like $18 a piece, and you have to get there early AF.

Yeah, I agree. I was trying to be nice and not bash. Recently, while I was being helped at the seafood counter I noticed an employee tending to the boiling pot with a long hook who snagged a bag of potatoes out of the water which fell about three feet to the ground. He picked it back up from the ground with his hook, lifted it up and looked at it. The bottom most potatoes were broken from the fall, but more importantly, the outer side of the food was exposed to whatever was on the floor of the seafood department (use your imagination). This Einstein then proceeded to toss that bag of potatoes back into the pot, adding Rouses floor seasoning to the boil.

I've heard good things about Hanks. Its in the country: corner of Fieldspan and Doc Duhon.

A friend of mine picks up crawfish to go from there all the time and attests to the quality.

We are regulars at Crawfish Time on Verot.

Going to Richard's this Saturday.

Owner of Cajun table gets his crawfish from his family farm just South of Suires in Vermillion Parish. Been watching that baw in the fields with his dad since he was in diapers. Also know he gets some prime blue crabs from another friend just down the road.

Not a regular but I’d recommend going there

Crawfish Time on Moss is also legit AF if you Want to venture into the Nortside. I’m not sure if they are owned by the same people or not

Crawfish Time on Verot. I’ve had crawfish from every place in and around Lafayette, and CT is the only place I’ll go now if I want restaurant crawfish

Same here and that's probably my favorite. They are very consistent, you know exactly what you are getting when you go there. Hawks is really good but they only sell them at the wurst biergarten later in the season unless you want to drive out in the middle of nowhere to get them there.
