AE is fantastic. I tried it a few years back (during my lurker days) based on this board praising it. For whatever reason it has become hip to hate on it now. You'll see mixed opinions of it here. Ignore that and continue to drink it if you like it. Don't let the downvoters and haters ruin your experience, because it's all about what you like. Personally I love it.

At retail? Good luck, you basically have to have a hook up. Your best bet is probably going to be what was suggested to me, Facebook secondary groups, but be prepared to pay $150+.

Batch 15's have been shipping around the country for a few weeks now. but anyone that knows where one is, will have already snatched it up. Just have to get lucky or like you said have a connection. I have one coming in my local store for me on Friday. the 15's are getting stupid money right now. moreso than b12's. you could probably find 13's or 14's for sub 150 shipped. less local as well

Incredibly jealous. That's on the top of my list. Do you mind saying what you traded for it? I'm trying to get a sense of what fair value might be. I refuse to buy anything off the secondary market out of principle, but do like trades and have some good stuff to offer.

I was able to snag a AE 2020 Cask Strength at retail. $200. not sure if worth it, but the review say its amazing. Waiting on some friends to come in town before popping it.

Traded a Weller 12. MSRP they are within $20. I have another trade agreed to verbally to swap for a Blantons. Hopefully that goes through this weekend. I’d be happy with one bottle but I got to taste this the other night and it’s definitely something I’d like to have a backup of. It’s a bottle that if anyone who came to my house was a whisky/bourbon guy I’d have to pull it out and let them sample. It’s great but more enjoyable with company who can appreciate it.
