Saw that as well. Not really surprised. It’s like all the craft beer folks that got bought out by big corporations. After Discovery 4 the Disco 5 was not near the quality, but have heard 6 is was good but not to the level of 2,3 and 4. The juice they make is now about 5 years old and sourcing ultra aged 10yr and up KY juice was getting exspensive for them to do,these. I am glad I have a literal shite ton of whisky on hand cause it is about to be through the roof and scarce.

How does the standard label Stellum compare to the Barrell Batches?

Have a bottle of 6 and find it excellent. I don’t have previous releases for comparison, but it’s definitely one of my better pours that I own.

Martin's app had a bottle of Old Fitzgerald available since last night for $130. It was there this morning as well for a few hours but I guess someone scooped it up. I passed....did I screw up? I had a pour of it a long time ago and remember not being blown away but then again it wasn't the same release. This was the 14yr bottle.

I really like the Old Fitz, I just saw they have a 17 year release for this spring

That doesn't mean they would have sold it. A few months back Martins had Weller CYPB online. I purchased it, then they told me that they really didn't have it.

I don't feel so bad then. Martin's is about a 30 minute trip for me depending on traffic. Would be very disappointed to make a special trip only to find out the bottle was never available.

If I remember correctly, I never got an update on the online order and I finally called Martin's. They may have had the bottle and did not want to sell it online. But in the end I didn't get it.
I would not have left to get it until they said the order was ready.

Martins updates their inventory control to their online database every 2 hours so if someone grabs something with 1 in stock it will show available for the next two hours.
I have been disappointed with a reject email too many times.

It doesn't have the same level of complexity compared to the barrell batches I've had. I associate it with a more straightforward bourbon profile. For the price point, it's really solid though.

This has been a good one. Looking forward to seeing how the breaking bourbon pick stacks up.

SecondPD
Penelope toasted series. I kept thinking about this bottle while drinking the Blue Note, even though the rye is higher with the BN (MGP). I most def give a slight bump to Penelope for richness, complexity and finish. Nose is about the same, both have high ethanol which is not that big of a deal. I like the Blue Note, glad a bought it. Not necessarily buying it again. I read some reviews and I think Fred Minnick nailed it.

I thought I double posted the crossroads on quick glance. I didn't see your post beforehand. I'll withhold judgement until I have another pour or two. It was fine, but nothing really stands out.
