I'm impressed. I think the complexity edge goes to it, but if forced to choose, batch 8 is a little bit ahead in terms of personal preferences. I'm really looking forward to trying the rye this weekend.

100% agree. I bought this high rye and my neighbor the golden rye. I enjoyed his plenty, but I absolutely dislike mine. The HR is way too much licorice for me, while the GR is a nice sweet spice balance. I think I need to trade with him

Opinions needed...

I need to choose one to keep for myself and one for a gift between the Penelope and Barrell

Went in with intentions to buy a nice bottle for a gift and left with multiple lol

Really depends on your preference. Are you one of these guys who are anti-Dickel? If so, you shouldn't keep the Barrell Private Release. If you are more open to blends with it, then I would lean towards keeping that one.

What does it say the states of distillation are on the back of the Barrell bottle? Is it Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana? Or, just Kentucky and Tennessee?

You have a $25 bottle matched with a $50 and $70 (or at least in these ranges if I don't remember precisely their prices). Besides that, the BT doesn't even compare to those other two. It's good for $25, but that's about it. BT is incredibly overrated given its demand an allocation now.

It really comes down to if you're looking to give a nice gift or if you're looking to keep the best two for yourself.

who gives a shite. BT is my go to cocktail bourbon. I needed a bottle and bought it. I bought all 3 at the same time. Completely irrelevant to the question I asked

A buddy of mine suggested the other two bottles as gift options. I was just curious what yall opinion was on which one you would gift and which you would keep

dang bra you sensitive. why are you even asking us which you should keep for yourself if you already know the answer? keep that BT for your cocktails, homeboy. you do you and give one of those better bottles away. if you think that BT is fiyah, then keep on mixing it with your diet coke.

you asked us which bottle you should gift. I laid out how each compares price and value wise and then suggested you decide based on that. I can only lay out the math problem for you, but it's entirely up to you to do the calculation. Sorry if you can't add; that's not my problem.

cheers and enjoy your Buffalo Trace. Be sure to instabrag with it
