Tonight is Kilchoman 2020 club release. Near perfect whisky.

Gonna be back in Louisiana next week and will grab their 2021 Feis Ile bottle that was delivered to my parents house (the distillery doesn’t deliver to CO)

Forgot to snap a picture, but I did a blind tasting of the last three EC barrel proofs yesterday. A bit surprisingly, B521 finished second behind C920. For whatever reason the first impression of that one just wasn't quite on the same level as previous releases, but after several pours, I can confidently recommend it.

On a separate note, has anyone heard about the larceny B521? I realize that line isn't for everyone, but after A121, it's a must buy for me.

What's y'all's favorite rye for an old fashioned?

I saw Bulleit Rye for $21 at Sam's Club and I would imagine that's hard to beat

I have the 2020 Larceny B520. It's a damn fine pour if you like wheated. A lot of heat on it.

I ain't seen the B521 yet. Probably won't get so lucky.

My go to for an old fashioned has been Rittenhouse Rye for the past year. I actually do like the Bulleit rye in an old fashioned, but unlike the Rittenhouse, I don't enjoy it by itself.

Old overholt BIB is a solid option in that $20 range. If price isn't a consideration, Willett Rye is probably my favorite base. I do feel kind of guilty when I make one because it's so damn good by itself.

I want to try. How "spicy" is it? Compared to the bulleit?
