Been staring at the bottle wondering....I was on a MMPS pick recently and after we had settled on our blend the reps let us "frick around" for awhile.... we did a blend with 7 mocha I think and it was like someone put a splah of makers in a mug of swiss miss hot cocoa...makes me really curious of that one

This is one of the things they have reasonably priced. There's is $70, as is most other places. I've seen a few in the mid 60s.

I just absolutely hate how the gouge on some things so badly ($50 regular ER 750 ) Makes it really hard to want to spend money there, even if it's only on the decent priced things.

But, I'd prefer the unopened bottle of Willett Pot still reserve behind it. Hard to find.

Plus, skotch and I will never be friends.

That reminds me, I need to pick up another bottle of Glenfarclas. Good everyday sip for a good price.

Need some advice from the all knowing W/B/S thread members. I've never attended a Scotch tasting but will be hosting one on Saturday. My intent is for it to be a blind tasting. Is pouring all of the scotch 30 minutes to an hour prior to it being tasted OK or should I "brown bag the scotch" and pour it fresh for each one? Also is 0.5 oz enough for each scotch (we will be tasting 8 different ones)? I have made sheets for each person to write their notes on. As I said, I want it to be blind to the name of each scotch, but do I tell them the Distiller's notes prior to each one or wait until the end for them to compare to their notes?

TIA

Could always get some small plastic containers or Mason jars to keep the samples in and pour from that.

I don't think you need to pour it too far in advance. A fresh pour would be perfectly fine imo. 1/2 oz each for 8 pours is prob not a bad idea. Or cut it down to 4 and do 1oz pours. I wouldn't tell them the region it comes from in order to eliminate some of the preconceived notions each region has. Id personally prefer a blind tasting to have as little info as possible where info would only be revealed upon request. Maybe keep the distiller's notes on hand in case they ask. Other than that, you'd be fine. EDIT: Pretty badass that you're putting this on.

I originally thought about doing all different distillers but went with one, so they already know that all of them will be Glenlivet. I just don't want them to know which Year/Vintage each is prior to tasting them all. I don't want them to assume because its 21 yr its better than Founders or any of the others.
