$40 seems to be the norm everywhere I see it.

OK, the $5 upcharge is expected. It's a new little small shop that recently opened up in my office building. I figure their prices would be slightly higher than most...but $5 isn't a big deal IMO.

Ha ha. You're in MS, this is the land of OWA 107. The Weller 12 is a tough get, though.

I missed it on the first pass, had made my purchase and was talking with the owner. Mentioned it was bad when Weller was hard to find. She said "Yep, I only have one bottle of the antique left." I said where, I want it. She had it behind a shelf support 2nd shelf from the bottom...

Well done. I try to find the "whiskey person" in each store and talk with them a while. You'd be surprised the bottles that will appear from the back or from behind the shelf when they realize you know what you're talking about. This especially happens after several visits and buying various things throughout.

is $45 a decent retail for this?

that's a nice pour Geaux and $45 is about right

J is not just about chilling the pour down, a little ice melt helps brings out all the flavors & aromas
but not so much ice that you dilute the taste of course. but to each is own just my 2 cents my friend,

plus i would break a tooth with those stones

Nabbed three OWA's when I was out of town last week...like others, left the last bottle on the shelf.

Also, grabbed a handle of W12 to pad the reinforcements for when that goes AWOL here in 2 months

Has anyone had the Private Selection Four Roses that Calandro on Perkins has? I believe it was a select barrel that Calandros picked and had bottled for them. I'm a huge fan of both the SmB and SB 100 proof Four Roses, but the Calandros has a higher price tag. I was wondering if it was worth it.

1PD- Woodford rye

It's much better after being open for a few days. I didn't care much for it when I opened the bottle last Friday.
