It went great. Everyone liked everything there except a few hated the Handy. I knew it would be intense for a few of them. Clear cut last place was OFBB '13. I've never understood the hype on that one. As a bonus, I also brought out a bottle of Booker's 25th. A few of the guys absolutely fell in love with it. When it was just a few of us left, I let them try the EH Taylor BP and Rye (the single Barrel was in the lineup). I definitely created a couple more EH Taylor fans.

All of the Taylor's were/are excellent. Which one was the OFBB again?

OFBB = Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. It was the short squatty bottle at the end of the tasting.

OK, I remember the name Old Forester....didn't realize it was "Birthday Bourbon" though. Yes, that was easily the worst of the group.

As an avid cigar smoker, now that is pretty cool. I am a huge fan of Nicaraguan cigars, so I am very curious as to who they contracted to make those bad boys.

Also, I was doing some googling about a certain bourbon and wouldn't you know it....one of the links that came up brought me to a post you made on another forum about it.

Yeah, saw the Tesa Cigar stamp, but I have never heard of them and they appear to be a cigar lounge in Chicago that created their own "cigar company". Someone else like AJ Fernandez, Drew Estates, Oliva, Nestor Plasencia, etc. is most certainly doing the blending, rolling, banding, and boxing them for Tesa.

ETA: I take that back. According to their website, it appears they built and run their own factory in Esteli. If so, that is impressive because it takes some serious time and a learning curve to run a factory and produce your own cigars.

Yes, it is different. To be fair, OFBB '13 has received great reviews and a lot of posters here like it. I'm just not one of them and no one else at my tasting seemed to care for it either.

My old man used to drink Old Forrester. Might have to give it a try again, for old times sake.

Nope out of the 7 bourbons we tried, that was easily the worst. I preferred the Woodford Reserve the best while most everyone else preferred one of the Taylor batches (which was great...I just liked the Woodford better).

Don't get me wrong the ofbb for '13 was a good expression.. just too woody for me. The nose does bump it up several points. Smells like bananas foster
