so they started mixing rye based bourbon with the S/W wheated bourbon???

yes due to over wooded flavor, watch that link i posted. The owner says it himself.

I just wish we know when that mixing started. I am almost finished one batch 13 and I can say no rye there. I have one batch 13 and one batch 15 left. I am not worried about batch 13 but I dont know about the batch 15. I think it went to 32 or 33 batches?

Whenever man. We need to catch some beers at the brewery soon. They're supposed to have all beers, including grand reserve, on tap soon... I'm gonna try n make it there that day.

great vid! That pretty much spells it out...lower batch numbers are probably better and true 100% sw. All of mine are 13 and lower....so I cant do a comparison.

Double oak is too oaky for my liking. I am not a fan of honey bottles either. The best 3 $30 bottles are Elmer, eagle rare, Elijah Craig

I have had bottles of Batches 8,9,13,15. I can tell you that none of those batches had rye. Your good on Batch 15.

I think it's pretty shitty that they claim it's SW juice but "some of them" may contain rye... If I'm paying 100+ for a bottle, I'd like to know whats in it.

Does anyone know if OWA107 is available anywhere between Baton Rouge and Houston? I am going to houston in a few weeks and would like to pick up a bottle for some poor man's pappy mix.

The 2 batches I have at the house are 3 and 13...both are similar in taste profiles, but one time I had a 27 that I felt was a little different, maybe some rye in there.

ETA: On second thought, think I have 7 & 13...believe 3 was a 17-yr I had previously

I've got an OESF coming from the distillery so we'll see how that recipe is

Hell yea! Now we'll know how good the limited will be since that's not one of the more available recipes. I've never had it

Was a good guess a couple weeks ago, obviously. It was one I'd never had.

From their website:
The "E" mashbill contains 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% barley.

Then add the two yeasts:
O - Rich / Full Bodied Fruit
F - Herbal

Put it together and you're supposed to get:
OESF 75% Corn - Mint, Fruity, Full Body

Should be interesting
