Picked up a couple new bottles. The Koval line is new to MS. They're a craft distillery out of Illinois with some good products. My buddy is a broker for them so I was able to try out their different whiskeys. The Oat is probably my favorite, but the Rye is outstanding also and I think it recently had a Gold Medal at an international competition. The Four Grain also won a Gold Medal at an International competition last year. The Jefferson Rye is getting ridiculously hard to find so I picked up a spare (their last one).

Where can we get a bottle of the Koval in Jackson?

Colony Wine Market in Madison. If Zach is there, talk to him

So, I traded some beer with a bourbon guy and we decided to stick to what we knew best for the extras. I sent some brews, this is what he sent. I'm pumped

Nice...How much beer you trade for those? Nice variation...A good rye based bourbon, a wheater, and a finished rye whiskey

Those were just the extras he sent. I sent him a pappy aged beer, and he sent back a handful of barreled beers.

i get very weary about samples. The fact that i am trusting some stranger to send me an open bottle taste of something. You never really know what you are getting. If it were a person I know I would be more accepting but otherwise I will pass. Lots of crazies out there.
on another note - I finished off the last glass of EWSB vintage 2004, The last glass was very oak/woody. It tasted like I was drinking a glass of woodford which I am not a fan of. The last sip was vastly different from the first. I might pass on another bottle

Absolutely agree. Have traded with him before, and he was originally recommended by a good friend who just does bourbon trades. When I first saw that there is a bourbon sample trading community, I was like holy shite some of y'all are getting pappy van aids.

The operator of BX actually posted about this yesterday. Said he basically didnt want it happening on his page as he didnt want to feel responsible if someone got poisoned, etc. no way i'd take a sample from someone i didnt know.
From the page....

Please remember that a rule of BX is NO SAMPLES. If you want to play Russian Roulette, you can, but not here. Not only can you not guarantee what you're getting, you can't guarantee it's not poisoned. You may know someone on Facebook, but if you haven't met them in person, you don't even know if their picture is really them.
Please, please be smart. Getting Catfished on MTV is one thing, getting ruffied or poisoned long-distance is another. That 1.5 oz of PVW isn't worth your life.

Looking for a friend. What's fair on the secondary market for PVW 15?
I wouldn't mind getting a tornado either. Beard, if you wouldn't mind, shoot me an email at thedudeattd@hotmail, If you have access to it.
