Any Whistlepig fans? Picked some up the other day. Good, but not sure it meets the hype.

The Texas bourbons I have sampled have been awful. Very under developed flavor profiles and extremely young bourbon.

What are the thoughts on EH Taylor barrel proof?

It's one of the better barrel proofs around.

My favorite barrel proof that I've had so far (haven't cracked my Handy, GTS or Aecs yet) and one of my favorite bourbons in general.

Be careful though It's way too tasty and smooth for a BP. It will get you.

Taylor BP is probably the best easier to find barrel proof. It's not always around though...

It's awesome, but it ain't Stagg

Ok, you drunkards have managed to convert me from a strictly scotch man to a 90% bourban man and I can't seem to get my hands on a bottle of BTAC to save my life. So, my question is, which of you hoarders of BTAC is willing to sell me a bottle for a price my wife willing to let me buy it at? And, by that I mean true retail. I am dying to get some but she will kill me for paying BX prices for booze. We're on a budget now fellas and she controls the purse.

Here are a few tricks I have learned - It is much better to ask forgiveness then permission sometimes.
2. Never let you wife control the "purse"
3. Every smart man has a stash of "fun money"

Probably going to have to bite the bullet and hit BX my man.. put aside a few bucks for a paycheck or 2 and the sting of overpaying won't be as bad. Before I was able to get my yearly BTAC stash locally that's what I did.

That's solid advice. Thank you gentlemen. I'll just wait for next year since I don't have a Facebook to get on bx anyway. No worries, I still have some solid choices in the pantry.
