I've never seen it in La. I've know it can be found in TX and TN.

I have a few bottles of the Barterhouse and really like it. I have never tried the Forged Oak. Local store has a few bottles for $80. Worth it?

I have both bottles-- personally I would say Barterhouse is much better. I think I paid around the same and in retrospect not sure if it's really worth that (ie would get another Barterhouse instead)

Me too. I really liked the barter house and rhetoric.

The belle Meade bottle isn't all that I wanted it to be. Especially at the $75 or so that it ended up being after shipping and all. It's good, just not $75 good.

It is woody like Elijah Craig, only not as good.

Last pour is an Unc pour of Bulleit Rye

The problem is that it's an Unc pour which wraps up half the bottle which has magically disappeared while I was doing work bullshite. Whatever. frick tomorrow.

still haven't got over that 2 weeks off now back to school ehh.

On the belle Mede it's a sad trend I think. There all of these bourbons coming out that are really just ok but there being pushed as special so they can charge more. Sorry to hear it's that pricy and not worth it.

I still have hope for the SBP Belle Meade. latech's review is the first negative one I have seen. The other 10 or 15 have been very positive. I guess I'll have to open one of mine and find out.

Don't put a whole lot of stock into my review. I often find that my tastes are contrary to the masses. I have also found that a few weeks after opening, a bottle will get remarkably better.....to me anyway.

I am terrible at tasting notes, but I found it to be un smooth???? Rough is to tough a word for it, but the quality that was lacking was smoothness and balance. RHF, ETL, and I am sure, plenty others are just so terribly smooth and balanced, I find this one to not match up and at a signifigantly higher price. I will take part in the next one just because I like the idea of the group, but I will think twice about the level to which I participate in the future.
