Girl Scout cookies will soon be upon us. Someone has decided that they should be paired with bourbon...

That's funny cause when you get a glass of angels envy rye at lock and key they give you some samoas (spelling?) to have with it

To be fair, Sazerac isn't bourbon so it's the holy duo of Bourbon plus a Rye. Second, why would you want to pass up a free tasting of whiskey? Whiskey that is definitely low end but still free and tastes delicious. Plus you get to enjoy said free whiskey with like minded individuals who are really into bourbon and whiskey and you end up having a lot of fun.
We went and had a good time last night. Talked to a rep for Republic for a good while, he's a cool guy who knows a lot about bourbon. Much more than we do at least. He definitely wants to come back and drink with us again and bring more stuff with him for us to drink so i think last night was a success.

quote:true dat. I didn't look at the post long enough to think about baby saz and no I'm not dissing the whiskey tastings trust me, I'll go to as many as I possibly can. It's a silly hearted comment that should be taken lightly not with emotional fervor.

Speaking of, bourbonsocietyBR, where can I go to get updated info on meetings and tastings. I checked your site and Facebook on Monday and didn't see any info on the tasting.

We try to keep things way more updated than that. Arthur (owner of Lock and Key) told me about the event Tuesday afternoon and I put it on fb as soon as I could. He didn't let me know about it beforehand otherwise we would've put something about it sooner.
We are having our next BSoBR outing two weeks from today, January 28th from 6:30-8:30 at Lock & Key. We are focusing on single barrel bourbons this time, our flight is $20 and its EHT single barrel, Blantons, and Russels Single Barrel. Arthur is going to do an informational session about bourbon too that night, it should be a whole lot of fun.

Thanks good sir!! I will do my best to be there. Arthur is a stand up guy. He gave my cousin and I a great experience at lock & key, hours before he tied the knot.

Frugal's five empty Pappy bottles are in the mail right now. Once he get em, He's gonna fill em with Dr. Pepper and post it as his first post. First impressions are everything!

And hopefully talking about him on the thread will pull him out of the shadows. It may come back to bite me on the bum if I keep making fun doe.

Went to my local place with the better selection tonight..and Lo and Behold..1 of my 2015 Unicorns was waiting upstairs for me. Bought it at retail price. This is going to be delicious
I absolutely love the Single Barrel and I also really want to try the Toasted Barrel...but I'm STOKED about this one.
