2 yr old Willlett is great in Rye based cocktails but my wife just poured Willett in her diet Pepsi and it brought out some flavor that we cannot pinpoint but is real distinct. She had about 2 oz of diet Pepsi to 3 oz of Willett. If you have any give it a try. It's crazy the flavors that come out.
When I saw her pouring it in her diet Pepsi I said what the hell. That is what the Very Old Barton is for. After I tried it I thought damn!

I agree, think the 2 yr Willett Rye is great, especially for price. Makes a mean Manhattan. Not sure what the other poster was talking about saying he was gonna use it to remove paint

Great game w some good bourbon:
FPD: Michters toasted
NPD x2: smooth ambler 10
NPD: Smooth ambler Rye
NPD: EHT RYE
Gotta say the Michters toasted and the EHT rye were the stars.
GEAUX TIGERS!

Since you have a bottle anyway and assuming you have some left after cleaning paintbrushes with it. Go in a room where nobody will see you and pour some in a diet Pepsi and tell me what that flavor is that comes out. It's driving me crazy because I know I know it but I can't pinpoint it. Wife said banana but I'm not getting that.
I swear I will never tell anyone you actually drank a whiskey mixed with coke.

See i drink everything neat too and I disagree, but hey to each their own right? We all have different taste buds and preferences. Try like two or three drops of water if your willing to try it again maybe?

The Masters Keep was delicious. Easily the class of the group.... Which it should be since it is 2-3 times more expensive at $174 including tax here in Baton Rouge. Complex deep flavor with no negative finish. An excellent pour.
Not picture.. Mostly because I forgot that it was wild turkey
was the 60 anniversary wild turkey that I bought last year. So I had a good excuse to open it.
The Master Keep was significantly better. By a fairly substantial margin.
Overall Impressions. Rankings out of 100
Masters Keep (95): An excellent whiskey. Complex nose and excellent flavor. Mrs. SMS that can't stand the smell of whiskey even smelled it and said "Hey wait, it smells like vanilla and wood"... Good Job Honey. Wood was oak but close enough.
60 Anniversary (85): A solid pour but for the $120 or whatever I paid for it last year not a very good value. Significantly harsher finish than the Masters Keep and not nearly the complexity.
Forgiven (80): Clearly the value of the group. Excellent deep flavor but little complexity. Nice finish. An overall quality whiskey for the ~$50 price tag.
Kentucky Spirit (40) Barrel Proof (35): Both the Kentucky Spirit and the Barrel Proof couldn't really keep up.

i've had several chances to grab one and that price tag has made me put it back every time. that's in my acceptable range for what I'll pay for a BTAC bottle, but not a 1 off from wild turkey. especially after their last one (Diamond) was kind of a flop.

This. I had got a Diamond but never opened it because I havent read much greatness at the price point. I am tempted for this one but like you...the price makes me re think.

All I can say is that it is substantially better than the diamond. $174 is a lot and I get that, but I guarantee that if someone put it in a Eagle Rare 17 antique bottle everyone would buy it up fast and be happy with their purchase.

I mean, lets not get too excited. It is probably about as good as a mediocre scotch... But it is only bourbon after all.
