Yeah, I’ve done the same. I have a 5 pound pork shoulder I bought and have since frozen to use. I also want to try shrimp boudin. I found Bourre’s recipe on line. I have extra shrimp stock that I made last time I made gumbo. I have the casings and the stuffer. Just need the motivation.
Casing them up right now. They will be in the smoker before the game is over
Oh, btw, FPD: Weller SR Churchill Select

If you are going to have Top shelf bottles, you need experienced bartenders to know the product. That is on the owner/manager

Anyone in the thread from Houston? Curious if any whiskey pros know of any particularly good liquor stores that have a larger than average variety and harder to find bottles?
I’m on the north side and the Total Wine close to me has a pretty solid selection but figured I’d check if there were any hidden gems as I’m pretty new to really expanding and trying new things.

Had the Michters toasted Barrel bourbon for the first time tonight. That might be my favorite bourbon I’ve ever tasted, wow!

Anyone ever taste (or heard of) Widow Jane or Mulligan bourbon?

I’ve heard Widow Jane is pretty good. Bottle looks like those rock glasses someone posted the other day.
Added a little something special to OF#2. .3oz Homemade extract from McKenna 10 and vanilla beans brought home from Madagascar about a year ago. Very nice.

Back when I was workin I had a tankerman from Honduras. he was a hard working guy with a work visa and would ride the boat for many months at a time then take a couple months off and go home. He would always come back with a case of pint sized jars of home made vanilla. It was hands down the best vanilla I have ever had and we tried to copy it several times and good but not the same the guy was building himself a mansion back home and one hitch he never returned. Guess he is livin large back home smokin fatties on the porch full of his kids. He sure made some righteous juice though
