Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve had Bottles of the Lagavulin and Kilchoman but not Ardbeg. The two I’ve had were solid. I’ll try the Ardbeg.

The 10 is great and not really expensive.

I think tonight I will open the Corryvrekan, cask strength bottle.

I pay $45 for pikesville at acquistipace. I think that’s what it is. Should be in that range.

Distillers Edition

Yeah this one looks right for me. Has a sherry finish so will be a good transition into the peaty smoke.

I definitely want that Carribean cask. That’s a great price! Will go tomorrow

Is Weller SR the best sub-$30 bourbon, hands down?

This shite is so smooth, it’s almost dangerous, because it goes down so easy.

I’ve had a couple store pick Buffalo Trace bottles that would give WSR a run for its money, but as far as a garden variety, anything beat Weller SR?

That’s actually a great question. I’ve gotten Eagle Rare for $29 before but it’s mostly $30-$34 range so prob not a fair entry. As a high-proof fan I’d offer Old Grandad 114 as a contender. But for lower proofs Weller SR really is a good sipper.

It’s been a few years since I’ve seen sub-$30 ER.

ER is better than WSR. I’ve had a few ER’s that were the best bourbons I’ve ever had. I’ve also had a few ER’s that were just good, but nothing great.

That’s a solid list. WT 101 and Grandad would stick out but I’d like to try the other 4 along with Weller SR and see how I ranked them. I’ve had all of them and enjoyed each of the bottles. Blind tasting would be interesting.

Plenty of solid sub $30 .. I’d put EW BIB as one of the top values. Can be had for around $15

Our house in LC has significant damage. Won't be living there for 1-2 months. Brought some of my favorite bottle back with me today though. Gonna be a BR resident for a while

Awful news...wish we could all fix things for y’all. Hopefully we can provide some encouragement over the next few months...it’ll get better, but will just take some time
