re: Which Abita flavor is your favorite?

right, you're correct. but peel back the onion and find out more. 12mm in the beer business is nothing, literally maybe 3-4 2,000 bbl fermenters and a new bright tank and construction to fit. measure organic growth, -8% in home market. then you're popular beers or flagships, strawberry down 30%+ three years in a row. thats a really bad sign. then measure index of sales in home market vs non. i want to say they're either 75-85% louisiana sales which is really really bad to have that high of an index considering they're in 38 states. then look at craft breweries ranking list/ theyre 15 this year, down one from 14 last year. look who's behind them, much smaller less distributed breweries. i.e sweetwater. in i think 9 or 10 states and about to explode. like i said,not a good sign. plus more la beers and big breweries on the horizon to come i.e lagunitas and yuengling this year

That makes no sense to me. And I don't think you're trying to be an ebadass or anything, but I'm legitimately shocked that there would be a distribution agreement like that.

Not knocking on Abita, as they have some decent brews. But, I'd rate their Root Beer higher up the chain vs that industry's elite offerings, than I would any of their alcohol beers vs the rest of America's best microbrewery offerings.

Abita's Root Beer is the real deal..too sweet or not.

And I agree. That's why you see them all the sudden scrambling to bottle their Selects this summer. They are reactionary. They should have been proactive long ago. Instead, they rested on their lager laurels and now they realize that was a mistake. Yet they are still content to put out meh beers like Seersucker Pils. They need to be inventive.
