I’m trying to see where I can get the most authentic French baguette. I find the ones I get in the store are not as soft as the ones I had in France. Any recommendations?

Maybe La Madeleine. I have also seen some in Whole Foods before but they aren't there all the time.

Whole Foods has the best bread bakery in Baton Rouge. Sad, yet true. Every bakery in Baton Rouge revolves around cakes and cupcakes.

I used to see Bellegarde loaves at Roberts, but Bellegarde is now closed.

Calvin's sells French bread from Poupart's bakery in Lafayette. It's a French bakery, but I don't know if the bread is really what you're looking for. You might check it out, though.

Certain days of the week, colandros gets deliveries of pouparts bagettes and pistollettes from Lafayette.

Maison Lacour has great fresh loaves, but I’ve never tried to buy only that from them.

Calandros typically has a pretty good selection. Alexander's is hit or miss, but I have seen them there before.
