Im sure a decent bit of people on FDB will be eating seafood tonight. So for those that are, where are you going out?

Or if you are eating at home, what are you making?

V-Day is not a day I want to eat out. It’s Ash Wednesday this year, so a meatless meal of some sort.

I pushed my Valentine's Day meal to Thursday to avoid the Ash Wednesday issue. Going to BRQ or Rocca.

Not eating out. Boiling crabs at home for the little lady.

Decided to cook tonight and go out this weekend. Doing skirt steak with a basil chimichurri on top. Probably do some roasted root veggies with it. Then something chocolate TBD for dessert because of valentines. Might as well..

The OT is all over this, but anyone going out to eat their seafood isn’t really giving anything up or fasting. I’d rather go out and eat seafood than stay in and have chicken, so it’s not a sacrifice for me. I’m sure that applies to most everyone else

Fasting is not abstaining from food entirely. One large meal. We give up meat. So, your entire post is wrong.

Eating a small seafood dinner at home after church. Probably salmon and salad. We moved Valentine's dinner to Saturday. I cook steak and lobster every year.

Think I am going to goto Costco and buy a whole beef loin, trim it and make some filets and also grab some redfish and do a surf and turf tonight.

Most people aren’t giving up meals. They’re just using Lent as an excuse to go get 5 pounds of crawfish. You’re not giving anything up man. You think Jesus would be proud of you for going out to eat crawfish?

I don’t think he really cares what you eat. I think he cares more if you kill, rape, steal, worship other gods, etc...

Exactly. All these cafeteria Catholics trying to act holy bc they go out to eat crawfish instead of eating chicken or beef. Big fricking deal. Go do a good deed if you want to look holy in front of your friends

The melt on this day is as invigorating as the ashes on my forehead.

TIL every catholic eats a huge crawfish meal tonight and does nothing good for anyone else in the world.

Y’all Protestants sure do get insecure during lent.
