Probably La Morinita. Some Mexicans will cheek meat for barbacoa.

You can definitely get it in the AP…. You just have to find it separated…. They come in boxes of 20lb frozen blocks I think.

Not Rouses, you have to try to small local joints.

Alexander’s Harvest Market in geismar has it. So does rouses in Pville on airline I’m pretty sure but call first to confirm.

No, they use beef cheeks. Not pork. Op will probably have to order from a specialty meat supplier. You can check with all the local specialty meat shops but not likely they keep them in stock.

ETA: I think some of you are thinking of temple meat which is not the same as pork cheeks or jowel.

Yep. She’s probably looking for temple meat but asking for cheek. And users are probably telling her where to get temple meat, thinking it’s cheek.

Use Boston butt. It’s far superior than temple. Temple meat is not some jambalaya secret weapon.
