Question: is the entire city gonna be inundated with crowds this weekend? I'm coming into town and didn't realize it was FQF.

It's been too crowded for me to want to drive-in for it from BR, but if I lived in NOLA (and could take the street car down there) I would definitely go. It's a fun event, but the crowds, especially by Woldenburg Park, are pretty ridiculous.

quote:Nope. You can literally walk across Canal and leave the crowds behind. The downtown restaurants are usually very slow since everybody is eating at the FQF boofs.

Awesome. That's good to hear because I planned this weekend to hit up a bunch of restaurants. I just didn't realize the festival was happening.

Mediocre music? Huge crowds? Long food and drink lines? Count me in.
I'm getting there at 6 am tomorrow to set up for 'Tribes 730 pm set

Got stuck in a crush at Woldenberg a few years back and scratched it off the list. Crazy crowded, though the Mint area is less stupidly crushed. Too popular for me these days. Glad that vendors, etc are making a buck tho.

Oak St Fest is next in line.
Year 3 is this year. Freakin awesome rather unknown party the day before jazz fest starts.

I didn't think it was overly crowded yesterday but we only walked around jackson square, got food and drink and then went to Lafittes
