Love some late night bud's. I started going there as a child with my dad so it's def a nostalgic thing for me, but you really can't beat it when you're drunk.

Lunch breaks during high school at Ninos were amazing. I fricking felt disgusting walking out of there but I kept going back. Haven't been in a while, maybe tomorrow.
Also to the poster that was talking about where is Buds open late night the one by city park is open til pretty late, if I recall they claim 24 hours.

Best thing to do with Buds is to buy your food, go straight to the bathroom and dump it in the toilet and flush it. You cut out the middle man that way. Your stomach will thank you

That's odd, I've eaten Buds numerous times and never had any issues. Weak stomach?

Two double meat #5's for me. Love me some Bud's.

I'm from NOLA and will admit it's a nostalgia thing. #4 with the sauce is where it's at. But I can also see why people would not want to eat there. Great memories though from the one on City Park Ave from sneaking out of high school free period to go there to making the annual walk to eat before Endymion rolled.
To me it's to NOLA residents what Johnny's Pizza is to North LA folk and Fleur di Lis is to the BR people.

It must be a NOLA thing, cause I love Bud's and Rally's too.........wish they had each in Baton Rouge.
I know Bud's doesn't have big patties, but I just love the shredded cheese on the burger and the sauce.
As for Rally's, I was hooked as a kid. My mom never really bought us McD's......she'd always get me and the little brother a huge order of fries to share, I've been hooked ever since. I still think they have the best fries.

Bud's is one of those things that lifetime NOLA residents hold dear to them for no good reason at all
It's hardly a notch above McDonald's and people latch onto it as if it is something awesome just because it is something local
It's ok for relatively cheap drunk food but to pretend it's some great can't miss stuff is just asinine

I've always liked bud's but would agree it may have more to do with nostalgia than actual quality.

There used to be a Bud's on Florida Blvd by Airline. No way in hell McDonald's comes close to Bud's.

You're the second person in this thread to say that. I think y'all either have eaten at some awesome Mc Donald's that I've never been to, or you're both full of crap.
Buds is not the greatest burger by a long shot, but it's is definitely above Mc Donald's and the like.

I used to like it, unlike their burgers and fries turned into an instant laxative for me

I love it. Shaved ice, shredded cheese, great bbq sauce. It's my favorite fast food.

You'll basically get this opinion split on anything nostalgic and local, ie: Johnny's, Mckenzie's Bakery, Pancho's, K&B ice cream to name a few.
I like what I like, and could care less what anyone else thinks. As for Bud's obviously more people must like it than not to still be in business this long.
Grew up eating at the A-frame one in Kenner near Williams Blvd. Double meat #4 w/sauce and onions, order of fries and Dr.Pepper, always leave happy.
