Ate at Port of Call for the first time the other day. Been hearing the name tossed around for years and thought I just had to go. It was awesome. The name has a certain allure to it. In reality, it's just a really good hamburger joint (with an expanded menu), but the name gives it a certain mystique.

What are other restaurants that just wouldn't be the same without that unforgettable name?

New Orleans in particular, has always been a creative hub for restaurants and the really good names are unique and carry the spirit of the place.

I liked Anything Goes when I was a kid. It had a fun atmosphere and I was really sorry to see it go.
Names that are also catchy and memorable are The Pearl, Liuzza's and La Louisiane.

To me, Commander's Palace and Upperline both give a great idea of the restaurants' ethos with only the name.

Biscuits & Blues, King's Tavern, and the Castle in Natchez all have a nice ring to them for me.

First name on the list. I don't think Gravy would like this restaurant opening in Baton Rouge.
