ribeye roll

Ok, you got my attention.

It's just another term for a whole ribeye, prime ribeye or whatever. I plan on smoking it till 115 deg at the house then taking it to my FIL's and searing the shite out of it on his Egg before we eat it.

Either will be fine.

But will those petit pois be in a roux? Dang, I love petit pois (or baby green limas) in a roux. Serious bayou home cooking, right there.

White Sangria
Cheese board with nuts, crackers, honey, etc.
Baked goat cheese topped with pepper jelly, toast to dip
Deviled Eggs
Balsamic Chopped Salad
Beef Tenderloin
Shrimp Scampi, no pasta
Mashed sweet potatoes
Cheesy baked potato casserole
Garlic lemon green beans
Parmesan baked squash and zucchini
Dinner rolls
Homemade buttermilk Pie
Misc desserts from others

Have a few quarts of pot roast gravy I froze from making Matty Matheson's roast, so will defrost that for the gravy boat.

This is Friendsgiving, not Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving Day could either be the traditional meal with family, or Dome food, or frozen pizza on my couch. Still waiting on the results for that.

If the wife (no pics) and I stay home, it will probably be this:

Apps - Baked Brie, Charcuterie Board w/Cheeses, Deviled Eggs
Mains - Smoked Gobbler, Stuffing, Sauteed Shrooms, Garlic Mashed Taters, Sauteed Hericot Verts (served with pinky in the air), Salad
Desert - Pie

Proteins and shrooms are my wheelhouse, wife is on sides and dessert.

Smoked Turkey
Sweet Potato Casserole
Oyster & Rice Dressing
Maybe Stuffed Mirlitons (Sausage, Shrimp, cornmeal)
Spinach Madeleine (Creamed Spinach)

Pecan Pie (Might try Steen's Syrup recipe)
Sweet Potato Pie

Mother in Law might bring over a few other items.

That’s probably close to what we all are doing but we are going out to brunch TG day and firing all that up the next day.

I’ll smoke turkeys and make cornbread dressing with giblet gravy. The ladies will make the rest of the spread.

I'm kind of cheating because we're having my family's Christmas dinner on Thanksgiving being that's when we'll all be together.

20-26oz Australian Lobster Tail
Filet Mignon w/ a nice balsamic glaze
Twice baked potatoes
sauteed mushrooms
homemade mac and cheese
asparagus
yeast rolls

Tried the pie recipe on the Steen's Bottle to the letter a couple of weeks ago. Overall I liked it a lot. It's different....seemed sweeter and richer than the Karo pie. My taste buds could detect the Steen's flavor, but personally didn't find it over whelming. Wife uses dark Karo for regular pie. The Steen's was darker. At some point will try 1/2 Karo 1/2 Steen's with no flour or cornstarch. Recommend the Steen's recipe.
