I really used to love Rio Mar. The ceviche was incredible but the owner was a baby back bitch.

I enjoyed Cowbell and Red’s.

Not sure what year it closed but I dearly miss Horinoya on Poydras, which was the only true Japanese restaurant run by an actual Japanese Chef. The guy deservedly retired after decades, but now I don't know of a single Japanese Chef in LA.
I also miss Stella! but Boswell shut that down almost 20 years ago. The "Duck Five Ways" entree was one of my favorites in the city.

I don’t remember when La Parvenu in Rivertown closed, but it was one of my favorites. I’ll always remember it was my first dinner out when life started to become semi normal again after Katrina. I had a cup of his Shrimp and Mirliton Bisque, some oyster doubloons, and maybe the best filet I have ever eaten. Try miss that place. The spot where it was is an outdoor Pavillion now for the wedding venue next door.

I loved Maximo's, would always get the Contadina sampler plate.

Their back bar was sweet, was nice watching them cook. Had my 30th there with a bunch of friends…sat a big table pushed together up front. Very festive place when it was rocking. Was a favorite when we lived in the city.

Blind Pelican
My friends and I would spend Saints away games every Sunday 1/2 priced charbroiled oysters $10 buckets and Sunday ticket
Outside of oysters food was ok but it was a good atmosphere .

Yes, like a block from Avenue Pub

K-Paul's served the most delicious food I've had in a restaurant.
No other restaurant I've seen cooked so boldly, and so well.
