Was Ginos for a few years. Moved to chimes east a few years back and Slowly moved to action packed Masons I'm product of my proximity to the watering hole and my ability to find my way home.

They know me there too, but I am talking about the bar/restaurant behind the liquor store in the Southdowns Shopping Center.

ETA: same owner.

When I lived in Houston it was KCs. I lived in the bar, but my apartment was across the street. Great neighborhood bar. Everyone knew my name.

Is that new?

Marcello's stocked my liquor and Wine and Raj at tiger mart supplied my beer. I was in Marcello's every Thursday restocking. I miss that place and the wine selection.

My pleasure.

ETA: my brother in law recently got divorced (which means I am no longer technically in Lester's family) and he bought a place walking distance from the River Shack. I really like the vibe of that place.

Jeremy is one of the best bartenders in the entire NOLA area. It is a great bar. Best red beans and rice in town for the Monday lunch special.

I have only been for weekend visits but the deli sandwiches are really good. Anita Flicks and Ben D. Rules are my favorites. I do wish they had more NOLA on draft though. Hopitoulas was the only one last time. Need to add Blonde at least.

ETA: last time I was there we had the bartender, who may have been Jeremy, make us a custom Margarita. I can't stand all the fake lime juice and sweet and sour that most people put in a Margarita. Good silver tequila, cointreau, and squeeze a few fresh limes in there--simple, yet elegant.

Finns by far. Considering I'm in there at least once to twice a week, it's not difficult.

I eat lunch there every other Monday. The beans are so good I won't eat beans anywhere else, not even my grandmothers.

Like 4 people in this thread have the same recent favorite of mine, so I'm keeping my mouth shut.
