Very over rated sandwich.

Quality has really gone downhill. When Darrell first opened the place I was told they cooked their own roasts and the bread came from Pouparts in Lafayette. It really was one of the greatest sandwiches I've ever tried. Had one recently (probably 10 years since the previous one) and it was grocery store cold cuts with below average au jus.

An overrated sandwich in Lake Charles.

It's the only sandwich I've ever eaten that made me feel like I needed to take a shower after finishing it.

Seems like an attention whoring douchebag wanting to "glom on" to the board here.

I'll only try it if the roast beef was sous vide for 53 hours

Not better than the shrimp or oyster poboys from Ole Tyme or Pop's. That's what it is.

Surf and Turf from Darrell's is better than anything Ole Tyme serves. That place and Judice Inn are two of the most overrated places in Lafayette. Pop's is legit though. I would probably give it the edge over Darrell's.

I was expecting more when I tried it. It's a good sandwich, but not a top ten po-boy for me.

Ive had one on more than one occasion. Decent enough, but they call it a po-boy, which is a stretch. I call it a po-sammich.

Just moved to LC in January and I agree with everyone else. The special is highly overrated, in fact Darrell's in general is highly overrated.

That being said, it's still pretty good though and worth a try. I am a much bigger fan of the Surf & Turf at Darrell's. Way better IMO

Go try it for yourself! Just know that popular opinions on any of these boards are unpopular

Average edible sandwich made with generic ingredients. Don't make any special trip but if in the neighbor hood try it and judge for yourself. It's seemingly a Lake Chuck institution for whatever that is worth.

You do realize even five star restaurants use products from Sysco right?

I used to get free sandwiches during two-a-day practices from a former teammate. I enjoyed the sausage meal.

Name a burger joint in Lafayette better than Judice Inn. While I love the quality meat and ingredients at Social and Charley G's, Judice Inn is the king of burgers here.
