The best Chinese restaurant in BR is Omi on One Calais just off Essen.
Omi rightfully gets a lot of love on this board, but whenever I go my SO and I are the only ones in there.

Is that Burbank closer to LSU or to Bluebonnet?
LSU.
It's in the shopping center at the corner of Burbank and Boyd.

Like you, we're generally the only diners there, but when we ate there a few days ago 4 other tables were filled.

Take out, son. Who dines in for Chinese anyway?

Omi is the correct answer.

Can someone please explain what's so great about Omi? I've been there a couple of times and wasn't all that impressed. Based on some others' recommendations I had Chong Qing chicken which was very dry, and spicy Cumin pork that was so salty and strong that I couldn't eat it. The shrimp dumplings were foul. What am I missing?
BTW, my go-to for Chinese takeout is China Express on Coursey. Plus they deliver.

Good taste?
You probably just prefer Americanized take out Chinese.

Nope, not at all. I actually prefer authentic Chinese dishes and often ask for them when I visit Chinese restaurants. I also consider myself to be an extremely adventurous eater. The dishes I had just weren't good.

Chinese Combo King was always my favorite. It's been a few years but now I'm craving their sesame chicken.

On Lee?
I thought about this place the other day. Seems like nobody knew it existed tucked away in that corner.
I used to eat there at least once a week back in the day.

I wasn't super into those two dishes there either, but the Garlic Sauce Eggplant changed my world

Haha... guess I'll have to check it out on my next visit.

Wontons - highland road.

Omi is the best, but CCK is a very strong option as well. The best combination fried rice you'll find in BR. Everything I've had here has been great.

I'm sure you're a lovely poster, but Holden
Can't stand that character (I know, that's the point).
