Y’all have inspired me. Just placed my order to be picked up at lunch tomorrow. I ordered ribs, brisket, turkey, and sausage to try it all. Didn’t bother with the sides cause I’m not trying to waste calories on coleslaw when eating Franklin BBQ.

I’ll report back with my experience picking up the food and how it is.

Make sure to get some of that Espresso BBQ sauce (and the original). Their meat doesn't need it but they are delicious!

Here’s my review from today:

Franklin BBQ is doing online orders. You place your order, select a 30 minute pick up window, and show up to the restaurant at your selected time.

The parking lot attendant asked me to pull into a numbered spot. From there, I was instructed to text my parking number and my order number to an automated assistant. An employee then brought my order out to the parking lot and placed it in my car. Zero contact and couldn’t have been easier.

I’ve had Terry Blacks, Micklethwait, Black Box, Lockhart BBQ and Pecan Lodge in Dallas which get a lot of love.

Honestly, Franklin is as good or better than any of them. Now I think there’s diminishing returns if you are waiting in line for 5 hours to eat there, but just picking up an order couldn’t have been easier. The entire experience was great and each of the meats was exceptional.

No surprise, the brisket was the star. I also liked the ribs a lot and both the turkey and sausage were very good as well. As someone mentioned, that espresso sauce is killer.

I hope they expand their order ahead offerings post COVID because I know I’ll be back often if they do.

Was that a pound of each meat? How much did all that cost?

Yeah they are requiring a 3 lb minimum on all orders. It’s a pound of turkey, pound of ribs, and pound of brisket, one link of sausage (You can also order this by the pound) and a bourbon banana tart (not pictured).

All of that plus tax and tip was right around $115. So it’s not a cheap outing, but it’s a special meal.

You can’t get same quality of left sided brisket as Aaron can get. Even the best BBQ places have issues competing because they can’t start with as good enough of product.

Try Cattleack BBQ in Dallas area. Way better than PL, which itself is great.

I’ve had some of their brisket prepared in another dish and it was fantastic. I moved from Dallas to Austin, but might check it out next time I visit Dallas.

This thread inspired me also, but I live far away in an area with terrible BBQ so I just ordered some slabs of short rib to smoke next weekend.

Your pictures look great, btw
