I ate there quite a bit pre-K (mainly at the Lakeview location) but post-K I think new ownership took over and I haven't had a good meal there since (both the airport area location and Mandeville). Now the new one on Severn is open (formerly Ground Pati).

Last time I ate there was at the Mandeville location and the entre just wasn't good.

What do ya'll think of it?

I like it, but I think they're inconsistent.

Because I want it during the week while I'm at work. Or while you're out shopping or running errands and want some, there isn't a better place in BR to get it from

I guess I just dont crave BBQ like that. I just have always associated it with having people over on the weekend and getting drunk and listening to tunes.

Its servicable.. Corn Pudding is an interesting side. Wish the pulled pork had some bark and more seasoning.

I've only been once to the one on St. Charles, and I actually had a good meal which I wasn't expecting. Far from the best bbq ever but not bad at all.

I think it stinks. And I'm not trying to get anyone's panties in a knot over this, but people who claim Voodoo has great barbecue just don't know what good barbecue is.

I also disagree that you can only get good barbecue at home. While this might generally be the case in South Louisiana, there are many parts of the country that have BBQ restaurants that know what they're doing.

I like it. When I went to LSU i used to eat at the North campus location at least 2-3 times a month.

I liked the pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and the corn pudding.

Also the bar always had good deals and excellent service.

meh.

ill get it everyonce in awhile, but its nothing to write home about.

and whoever said why would you go out for bbq, because it takes me 16 hours to smoke a butt. sounds like you are talking about grilling at your house and not bbqing.

i liked it just fine til i tried mike's smokehouse in houma. the smokey flavor is unmatched and the best bbq ive ever had (their sides are mediocre though)

since then, i cant find bbq that makes the cut anywhere. i still need to try that place in livingston one of these days.

You also have to include the time to let it soak in the rub and cleaning it.. Takes a long time.

Why'd it close? Not enough business?

It was in a bad spot plus I think a lot of people are locked into TJ Ribs when they go out for BBQ, plus those who had heard of it equate it to Bama which isn't exactly a great way to endear yourself to Baton Rouge.

I went there all the time though.
