Also, this chick's last name made me laugh:

Evangeline Bread + Applied Heat + Butter + Honey =

ETA: Actually watched the video. Really don't have a huge problem with the $4 price tag by the look of some of those creations.
Wouldn't buy one every day, maybe just once a week as a treat.

Living north of SF...this makes me wanna puke. While great toast is awesome the way these folks talk about it I feel nauseous. But that probably has more to do with my neighbors to the south than anything.

Did you know toast came into being when a postpaleolithic chef, whose name was "Mr. T. Oast", accidently left a crust of bread too close to a brisket fire. He noticed the browning that occurred and tried the resulting "toasting", finding it preferable to the unbrowned loaf.

Sadly, his blond assistant "Sheila" attempted to duplicate the dish the next day and invented burned toast.

Me? Skillet buttered home baked Wheatberry with Smuckers seedless raspberry.

I don't really like toast. Not real big on bread in general really.

Yeah, I agree. I don't see it as being any more out-of-line than buying an average cup of coffee/tea or a snack from a coffee chain. People also buy eggs/bacon/regular toast sides as breakfast sides for more than $1, so fancy today seems okay.
