Not the best, just the ones you love in any category.
My favorite overall is Solera, everything I've had is excellent, and great variety.
Fast food, the Serop Express drive-thru.
we
Seafood, love Jones Creek Oyster Bar.

Cheap fast food stops:
Ronnie’s
La Morenita
Serop’s Express
The Chicken Shack
AM Mart
Po’boy USA
River Queen Drive-Inn
Bergeron’s cajun meats
La Tienda
Fast casual:
Raul’s
Dang’s
Thai Pepper
The Cove Hawaiian Grill
Hannah Q
Stockyard Cafe
Bellue’s
Anthony’s
Inga’s
Curbside
Couyan’s
Lit
Fleur de lis pizza
Louie’s
Goodwood Grill
Southfin southern poke
Casual dining:
Sushi Masa
City Pork
Elsie’s Plate & Pie
The Chimes/Parrain’s
Overpass Merchant
Swagat
Albasha’s
Superior Grill
A little finer dining:
Roberto’s River Road
Louisiana Lagniappe
Umami
Pinetta’s
Ruffino’s
Cocha
Tsunami
Beausoleil
*I haven’t eaten at a lot of the higher priced restaurants, so that category is a victim of small sample size. I’d love to eventually try out places like Solera, French Market Bistro, Doe’s, Ruth Chris, Stab’s, Gino’s, Maison Lacour, Zorba’s, etc.
The bolded restaurants are my top picks in each category. They’re pretty much can’t miss restaurants. Granted, I don’t think you could go wrong at any of the restaurants in the casual dining category on up through the little finer dining.

Thought about this question for awhile and I hate to pick a National chain and not a local, but I honestly have to say my favorite place is J Alexander’s. I feel comfortable going either casual or dressy. The food is always good, I’ve never not enjoyed my meal. I love their menu. This is the one restaurant where you can literally pick any entree and I would enjoy it. The tables and booths are comfortable. There’s always a hostess welcoming you, you never have to wait awkwardly for a hostess to see you and come across the restaurant to do his or her job. And the service is always great. And the smell as you’re walking up is always good.
Like the OP said, maybe not the best, but it is my favorite.

The places we go to most are:
Elsie's
Anthony's Italian Deli
Ava Street Cafe
This may get some hate but I've always really enjoyed Parrain's as well.
Haven't been to Beausoleil in years but I'm curious to go again.
