There are certainly worse options.

I will certainly be offered them at my parents' house.

Love their wines. They do a great Torrontes every year from the Salta region of Argentina. Very reminiscent of a gewurztraminer or a viognier.

I don't know if the aging raises the ABV, but most of the whiskey barrel aged wines are on the higher side.

The wife and I are doing a low-key Thanksgiving - just the two of us this year.

Got a bottle of Bordeaux and a bottle of The Prisoner, and I'll probably sip on Basil Haydens during the day while watching football.

You should try the stuff Dave Phinney makes now, Orin Swift. He’s awesome if you like new world, California stuff. He doesn’t do prisoner anymore though. He sold it off for a frick ton.

Big fan of Orin Swift. Went and did a tasting with them last time I was in Napa.

Definitely really great bottles.

Yeah we're definitely going next time we're out there.

Here's our spread for Thanksgiving Eve. A friend brought Faust Cab over so we've finished that and the petite Petit so far. Earthquake is probably next. Machete might wait til tomorrow. Macmurray and talbott are for when we're drunk.

I'm having this problem too. Family in Texas doesn't drink. I won't be able to have a beer until Saturday. Thanksgiving won't be the same.

God damn Texans.... Last Christmas the Bil asked me if I wanted a pour of scotch in his special glass..... Well Yea..... He poured me a dram and I waited for him to pour his.... He shoved me off and said no fricking way am I gonna get caught drinking by the old peeps..... I walked in with my drink and dared them to challenge me...... Passive aggressive fricks..
