LOL, yikes! No dry zones in NOLA, literally.

Probably one or two of these

Paul Hobbs 2012 Pinot Noir, Katherine Lindsay Estate
Paul Hobbs 2013 Pinot Noir, Ulises Valdez Vineyard
Paul Hobbs 2013 Pinot Noir, Hyde Vineyard
Paul Hobbs 2013 Pinot Noir, Cuvée Agustina, Katherine Lindsay Estate
Paul Hobbs 2013 Pinot Noir, Katherine Lindsay Estate
Paul Hobbs 2014 Pinot Noir, Cuvée Agustina, Katherine Lindsay Estate
Paul Hobbs 2014 Pinot Noir, Katherine Lindsay Estate

Maybe one of these if they make it here by then:

Paul Hobbs 2015 Pinot Noir, Fraenkle Cheshier Vineyard
Paul Hobbs 2015 Pinot Noir, Katherine Lindsay Estate
Paul Hobbs 2015 Pinot Noir, Cuvée Agustina, Katherine Lindsay Estate

Can you tell I like Paul Hobbs Pinot...

My wife cooked braised short ribs and grits yesterday
I had that at a restaurant here in Los Angeles recently. Well, braised short ribs and polenta. Hard to find grits around here. They served it with a Cabernet Sauvignon reduction sauce drizzled over it. It was outstanding. Paired it with a 2013 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir.

Be uncorking these this year:

2015 Ca‘ Rozzeria “Langhe Nebbiolo” (Piedmont)

2015 Laurent Gauthier Morgon “Grand Cras” (Beaujolais)

2016 I Veroni Rosé (Tuscany)

Hope they live up to the hype

Have to go to family about an hour away this year, so will not be drinking as much as when I host. Usually have a zin, a Rhone, and a pinot gris or similar. This year though I am thinking of bringing a few bottles of Chateau St. Michelle's 50th Anniversay cab. Have you tried it? Only $12.99 in NOLA but like all their stuff the quality far exceeds the price. Its legs go on for days.

Edit-looks like $12.99 price was an error because online price at winery is $50.

Some Mer Soleil chard and J Pinot Gris for the white drinkers and Willamitte Valley Pinot Noir for red lovers.

I had the 50th Anniversary chardonnay, but not the cab. Hard to beat their wines for the price.

I actually just made my decision. Anyone ever tried Cooper and Thief Red Blend 2014?

I like the novelty and the fact that contains more alcohol than I've ever seen in a wine.
Supposedly one of the hottest wines between $20-40 right now.

Williams Selyem produces my wife’s favorite pinots. Have a case being delivered this month as a matter of fact. None of it will be served to our family though... i don’t like them that much.

The whiskey barrel aged stuff is hot right now. That's where the higher alcohol comes from. That one is very popular. I've been meaning to try it. The Mondavi bourbon barrel cab and the apothic inferno are both pretty good.
