Tomorrow we’re having ham, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese. Christmas Day is steaks and baked potato casserole and whatever leftovers we have from Christmas Eve. I’m still not sure how I got suckered into this much cooking, but as long as there’s wine I’ll be fine.

Wife’s family is coming over, around eighteen people from what I hear. Cooking a turkey, bought a honey baked ham from the honey baked ham store, chicken and sausage gumbo, cornbread dressing, gravy, baked beans, candied yams, green beans, a cheesy creamed corn dish that I make, red beans (because my 30 year old son who’s a cook in New Orleans wants them every time he comes home :)), rice, potato salad, cole slaw (because I want it), Mac and cheese, assorted veggies and brown & serve rolls, along with a couple of dips. Other than the rolls (which my wife does), I’m cooking it all because evidently, nobody else can open and heat a can of peas! :(

4pm Mass then off to the Popeye's buffet on Pinhook for annual out of town aunts, uncles and cousins fest. Then we retreat to the farm for some eggnog and cheer. Christmas day it's sous vide venison roasts and beef tenderloin with all the fix ins!

I usually make a gumbo with potato salad and some other sides.

This year I’m making a lasagna at the wife’s request. She is baking cinnamon rolls for breakfast (something her family always does).

It's just going to be me and the parents this year

Dad is cooking chicken okra gumbo

I'll be making bread pudding

Mom will probably have her feet up playing with the dogs. She doesn't do much cooking.

Christmas morning is pillsbury cinnamon rolls with the orange frosting, a tradition. And my wife is a former barista with a breville so espressos and lattes etc. some publix croissants with some cheeses and meats.

2pm dinner-

10# boneless beef rib roast
Sweet potato casserole
Yukon gold mashed potatoes with Irish butter and heavy cream
Plain old stuffing/dressing
Sauted green beans in butter with slivered almonds
Storebought dinner rolls

Wine and beer. Tea. La Croix. Coke Zero.

Assortment of meats and cheeses and crackers set out for snacking.

Every year I try to dial my wife back, because she always overdoes it, this year she finally listened.
