Going to sister-in-law's (no pics). It will be an all-Italian feast. Homemade sausage, spaghetti, lasagna, Italian cookies, Tomassi Ripasso wine.

Buon Natale !

We aren't making it home to Louisiana until early January this year. We will most likely have a gumbo when we get there.

I'm making homemade salsa and sausage balls, and we're meeting a friend in Chinatown around noon tomorrow to have Christmas dinner. Something new and different this year, I'm into it.

L Boogie, I tried Helmand, an Afghani restaurant in Boston (maybe Cambridge) a few weeks ago and really loved it!

The same friend who recommended it also recommended Hei La Moon and Winsor Cafe for dim sum, Gourmet Dumpling House for dumplings. I wish we'd had time for one of those places.

Darla, I hope you loved Boston! It's a special city for sure. I will definitely give Helmand a try, it looks great. I miss queso, tacos and BBQ but the seafood and ethnic cuisine here definitely make up for the lack of Tex-Mex.

Cornbread
Sweet potatoes
Pecan pie

We’re on vacation and a recovering fat family. So we kept it light.

Update : The lasagna and the spaghetti & meatballs were awesome. The homemade sausage was a great appetizer. The Tomassi Ripasso didn't last long once the nephews figured out that Italian wine is the tits. All in all a great party had by everyone. Hope everyone else's Christmas meal turned out as well.
