There is a place in Napoleonville called the Dairy Inn where you can get a burger with one regular patty and one hot sausage patty with cheese. It is insanely good.
The new bbq place Frey's in midcity that opens up Friday will have a similar burger with a hot sausage patty. Cant wait.

1. Burger topped w cheddar and bacon THEN smoked prime rib slices and a fontina cheese sauce
2. Bottom bun topped with grilled Boudin Patty, fried egg and Sriracha on burger itself
3. Burger topped w thick cut onion ring, onion ring was filled w n.o. style BBQ shrimp, obviously peeled
Could name a lot more but Mac n cheese and bacon was probably the next best one I've seen..

I like a burger to taste like a burger. Bacon is about the only unusual addition for me. I've done blue cheese a few times, but a good old fashioned burger is my favorite.
Have you tried both bacon and blue cheese? They complement each other very well. Bacon 'n' Blue burgers are awesome.

Craft Bar in Destin has a bacon/pimento cheese burger. It is decadent.

Absolutely!!!! Fry the cheese to get a brown crust, and slap it on a burger the way you like is amazing!!!!!!

I second that. At Mugshots, they now sell a burger that uses two grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. Then the patty is topped with the bacon and mac n' cheese. It was incredible! Makes me ticked that they got rid of the Mugshots in BR several years back! They had some of the best burgers in town.

I just had a burger last night that had giardiniera on it, these spicy pickled vegetables. That was a nice change of pace. I've done the kimchi burger thing, it works great.

I made a burger at home based on one I saw on DDD. It's the Lair of the Minotaur at Kuma's corner in Chicago.
Carmelized onions, pancetta (I just used bacon, still great), brie cheese, bourbon poached pears (I pan seared the pears and glazed them with a mixture of bourbon and butter, the sauce that came off of that was incredible).
Put it on a ciabatta bun because I needed the bottom bun to be substantial.
Another weird thing I've seen on a burger is ketchup leather at some LA burger joint I saw on TV.
