The Lady and Sons. It’s Paula Deen’s restaurant in Savannah.

What did you get? Although it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, it was still one of fhe best meals I’ve had in Nola

I'm inclined to agree.

I just dropped 150 bucks for dinner. Two steaks, two beers. I did not realize how much the quality had gone down in the last few years.

Extremely disappointed.

Easy to believe because I have friends that rave about it. I never tried it, because it was always super crowded.

The most overrated period is Peter Lugars which has 1 star but that has more to do with how they cook steak than the quality of the food.

Agreed. Peter Lugers is fine, but it’s nowhere near the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to, and it’s highly overrated.

I far prefer Ruth’s Chris to Peter Lugers.

You don't need to. I had Popeyes strips for lunch and have had them many times. Flaky like fish will never be an accurate description of them.
Must be nice to not be able to notice waht the frick you are eating.

Go buy you a piece of chicken breast from the piggly wiggly, then remove the bones and get to the 'strip' part that is next to the bone and then cook it. When you eat it the texture is vastly different from the inferiors of Churches and Popeyes. Both of these establishments have the same shitty quality chicken. They are vastly inferior to chickfila or zaxbys.

Maybe Popeyes might be legit in LA but in my state and my location, they are shite and use inferior products.

That's more about the atmosphere and intimate setting. I don't think anyone is claiming they have 5 star food, but I could be wrong.

Eta - I reread the thread topic, and I guess you're right.
I was thinking food but it says restaurant.

Alinea in Chicago. More show than substance at a hefty price tag. It was good.

Chic Fil A. It's really not that great. The food doesn't look appealing at all.

When was the last time you ate at Le Bernardin?

Several years ago and it was wonderful as always.

I love the whole experience of tasting menus and wire pairings and I have just always felt like Ripert has it nailed. And I’ve tried most of them. Per Se, Daniel, Eleven, Alinea, etc. He lets the food speak for itself and doesn’t try to get too whimsical like an Achatz does.

But maybe that’s your thing which is fine but don’t go knocking it from 3 to 1 star based solely on your preference and last experience. That’s ridiculous.

Place is not good at all.

For me it would be Peche. It was good but overrated.

Ruth’s Chris is also good but I would never choose it in a place where there are good steakhouses.

I love Chick Fil A but no place is worth drive through lines around the block.

In N Out. Good but not what it’s hyped to be.

Not the OT. One person. Here. I’ll reset for you.

I went to Lugers last summer and it exceeded all expectations. For real.
