Grilled some pork chops and the neighbor brought me some pineapple upside down cake. :)

All looks good, but I would fight you for those tomatoes

Went to my local Popeyes to try the new “blackened” chicken sandwich, they didn’t have it and I’m pissed. Brown town for now and will probably have a turkey sandwich later

I know pineapple upside down cakes are very 1950s-1970s? I'm from the tail end of that period and still like them. Seems like a kind thing to do to get one from a neighbor.

I really like ThaiHey.
I made crawfish and yellow rice casserole with the last of the leftover tails. I haven’t had this since I was a young kid.

Salad with homegrown tomatoes, chipotle wings (Costco frozen), jalapeño poppers from homegrown jalapeños, okra, buttermilk ranch.

Do you use saffron for the yellow rice? Looks good!

She loves brisket and most any kind of BBQ. I’ll never throw a brisket on the pit without bringing her some. She reciprocates with a pie or cake on occasion. :)

Tomato & Cheese sandwich with bacon.
The lighting in this room could use some work, though.

It’s just packaged kind yellow rice.. I think Tony’s brand? Zatarains was 2oz too small so I went with Tony’s. This recipe is very unrefined with the golden mushroom soup, boxed rice, and bagged cheese included.
But still tastes as good as it did back then!

I love them too and told my wife the other day either she makes one or I’m giving it a try. Not sure why but I have an envie for one. I hated them as a kid but about 20 I couldn’t get enough of them.
I had a nice ripe cantaloupe for dinner.
