Sauerkraut with cinnamon apples and braised pork.

It’s delicious and was something my grandmother made often. I like to make dishes occasionally that remind me of her as a way to feel closer. She passed away in 2020 at 95 after living a great life.

Old man cooked some ribs. Threw a ham bone in a pot of beans. Had a couple of other things, too. Fed my bartender. :)

I've always been curious about the "fed my bartender" thing. Is there a story behind it?

Not really. I just generally cook a family meal on Sundays and I’ll bring whichever bartender, who’s working at my little neighborhood bar, a plate. Mostly college kids, so a home cooked meal is usually welcomed. :)
