Salisbury steak with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus.

The patties fell apart but we just spooned the remains over the potatoes and it's absolutely delicious. We're nothing if not resourceful!

We were very fortunate here. Stayed up past 2am on storm watch. Had some homemade sourdough French toast around noon. Pilfered through the freezers. Pulled out some jalapeno cheese sausage that we grill this evening, and some beef filet we will grill tomorrow. So difficult to see the devastation to our state.

Safe in Lafayette. Hoping my sister will head this way from Houma for some relief from no water or power. Luckily, minor home damage.

Boiled shrimp for supper.

Power just back on! It came on 3 times before, but blinked off after a couple minutes. This time the modems booted up, so we'll see. Waiting another half hour before switching on the A/C.

Dinner was brisket that was pulled from the freezer before we lost power, Mac-n-cheese, Grilled squash.
