Stuffed mirliton tonight using ground beef with some baked Mac n cheese and honey ham.

Here's hoping white beans can bring good luck, too! We decided we wanted those more than black eyes. Supper will be leftover white beans and ham with cornbread. I also didn't do any greens. There's cabbage in the fridge, but didn't do anything with that, either.

A big bowl of turkey and sausage gumbo..Did open a few cans of black eyed peas and simmered with a ham bone for about 3 hours. Trappey's @ 47 cents a can I couldn't pass that up.

Fried up some backstrap from a buck I killed Saturday. Just salt, pepper, and flour. Do you guys recommend anything else?

I like to give it a short soak in a mixture of eggs and milk, with a few shots of hot sauce. Then roll in flour and fry.
