Friends,

It was a rough day, but I did get 20 miles of walking in today. To feel a little better, I am getting Domino's, arguably the most consistently great pizza in New Orleans. One XL, one medium and some breadsticks.

I hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day Eve meal.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

I did ribs on the smoker but used a new wrap technique today. I did butter, honey, and jalapeños instead of brown sugar. The spiciness with a little cayenne was great. Sides were baked beans and potato casserole.

Seared tuna and steamed broccoli. Simple, nutritious, and delicious.

I did meatloaf on the grill which is always a favorite around here.

I put mushrooms in this one and it was pretty darn good with them.

Friend,

Glad you asked.

The XL Brooklyn three topping with pep, red peppers and spinach came in 29.2 ounces. Normally I stick with the large 3 topping for 7.99, but they offered an upgrade of approximately 28% more pizza for just $2, which is an even better deal than the large for $8.

The medium was 28.9 oz and was free with my pizza reward points. Getting double, not extra, cheese should always be considered on your free two topping medium once you accumulate 60 reward points. There is no topping that weighs more than double Wisconsin cheese.

I do not weigh the garlic bread knots. Should I?

I’ll be honest, not a big dominoes fan but that dominoes looks better than it does when I normally get it. Is the left thin crust?

Friend,

It is Brooklyn style. Since Brooklyn’s in Metairie closed it is the Metro’s best NY style pizza. Yes, it is better than Pizza Delicious and that fat pizza place on Metairie Rd. It is a testament to two things: how sad the pizza situation in New Orleans currently is and how decent that style of Dominos is.

My second favorite Dominos style is the pan, which is as good if not better than Pequods in Chicago.

Thin and original style have a place at certain times, but are not my standard.

It’s remarkable that you continue to ignore Mid City Pizza.

Friend,

Have you not read TulaneLSU’s Top 10 pizzas of the NOLA Metro? Sadly, the last time I had it, and after the owner died, it was not as good.

I’ve never had the Brooklyn style. Next time the family is in need of a couple of pies I may give it a shot.
