Like gold and taste like heaven. In about a month, Freshway produce stand on Old Canton Road in Richland will most likely have them (shelled) in quantities we use to blanch and freeze in 16 - 18 two serving frozen packs.

Whatever they cost is worth it. I remember trying to keep up with my Granny and great aunts when it was time to shell those suckers. I ended up with thumb blisters instead of a full bowl.

That’s in Houston Chinatown. It’s called “Hem” which means alley in Vietnamese. Cool place.

The wife's at dinner with friends so I was left to fend for myself. Had a hodgepodge of leftovers - Vietnamese eggrolls, boiled shrimp, sausage and crackers with pimento cheese.
