Weber Spirit 210 or 310?

Looking for a nice gas grill to hold me over for a few years until I buy my house and get a green egg or Primo. I have been looking at the Weber’s hard. If I go with the smaller 2 burner 210 Spirit, will I regret not going with the 3 burner for only $100 more?

Trust me. Upgrade to the genesis and get the cast iron grates. It will last forever.

I had a Weber 3-burner Spirit with a side-burner on it for several years. It was a nice grill. I eventually decided to upgrade to a Genesis, but not due to any real shortcoming with the Spirit. (Got a super deal on a Genesis right before the "upgrades" and price increase a couple years ago.)
The Spirit is still working fine at someone else's house. The Genesis is certainly nicer--more even heat across the cook surface, better grates, more oomph from the side-burner that I use to boil shrimp, and works well with an add-on rotisserie--but the Spirit got the job done for a nice price and took up a little less space.
In-laws had a Spirit 2-burner for several years, and I cooked on it many times on visits. It was decent but not nearly as functional as the 3-burner. It seemed to be more prone to hot spots, and it got crowded in there when trying to cook burgers or steaks for even a small group.
I would go with a Spirit 3-burner over a 2-burner unless money or space was a major concern, even cooking for just 2 people.
It looks like the remodeled Spirit II has debuted for 2018. You can get good info and a Weber catalog link here: Virtual Weber Gas Grill.
Amazon has the new model Spirit 3-burner (knobs on the front!) for $499 natural/$489 LP and has a comparison chart with other models. LINK
The 2-burner is only $100 cheaper. I'd spend the extra $100 and go 3-burner for a much nicer grill.

I bought the 210 only used for a year for $175 with two propane tanks on Craiglist. Can't beat that. I mainly cook for myself so two burners is more than fine

I’ve had the 210 for five years now and love it

My 2 burner spirit (210) came with cast iron grates. I like it a lot and is the perfect size for my wife and I. Can cook for up to 6-8 with no problem.

I have had mine for over 10 years, worth every penny.

I got a 2 burner spirit on clearance from Target a few years ago. The thing is a tank, gets really hot, and has cast iron grates. Like you, im usually cooking for 2, and it’s more than enough space. I can’t justify a need for a Genesis, but they are nice.

I've had a 2-burner Genesis for 16 years now and have only needed a 3rd burner a couple of times over those years. Only have a family of 4 I'm usually cooking for on it. For larger parties I have a charcoal with more cooking space that I use.

Thanks for all the responses. It looks like the older models of the 210 and 310 are $50 off at Home Depot. So I can get a 310 for $449. Will probably be the route I take. By the time I add the propane and the cover Im at $550

When I bought my Weber Spirit 310 five years ago. The ones at Home Depot had cast iron grates and the ones at Lowes had the chrome bar type grates. I went with Home Depot.

If you're dropping $400 on a spirit, spend an extra hundred and get a pellet grill. I have a a Weber 210. It's a great gas grill that's served me well. But I haven't turned it on since I bought a Louisiana Grills Pellet grill. It can do anything a gas grill can do, and do a whole lot more. The pork shoulders I've cooked on it are as good any anything I've ever done in my smokey mountain cooker.
